2015 Heathfield Cabernet Sauvignon

Sweeping out from a limestone ridge, layers of the famous terra rossa soil hold firm to the roots of Heathfield’s vines. And its here, nestled between pristine nature reserves and distinguished wine regions, that the Tidswell family craft their cool climate varietal wines.

It’s a rugged land, but one that rewards those who can sit back and absorb its beauty with a glass of Heathfield Cabernet in hand.

VINTAGE

A warm drier winter of 2014 and only average spring rains set up the vineyard for the challenge of facing a long, hot summer. This resulted in below average grape yields at harvest. The good news was the lower yields resulted in fruit of the highest quality.

TASTING NOTE

Cabernet Sauvignon parcels were selected from ‘East-West Block’ at our family estate vineyard Heathfield, then harvested at 14.5 Baume. Matured superbly after eighteen months in new and older French oak barrels, this wine displays a distinctively regional style.

The 2015 Heathfield Cabernet Sauvignon imparts an abundance of herbal aromatics with a mouth-fill of wild berry and intense blackcurrant flavours. It is a well-balanced and elegant wine with soft tannins and a rich smooth palate.

Consume now or cellar until 2025.
