The colder and drier winter of 2012 meant that we welcomed good spring rains before a long hot and dry summer which resulted in high grape yields at harvest in late March 2013.
Select Shiraz parcels were taken from our family estate vineyard in South Australia’s Limestone Coast. Maturity at harvest was 14.5 Baume.
The 2013 Gun Traders Shiraz is full-flavoured and vivid in colour with a bouquet of rich, dark berry fruits. A subtle pepper and spicy palate is balanced with superb oak characters leading to a smooth, satisfying finish. This wine is an excellent food wine and an expression of the ‘terroir’ of our region. A ’seriously drinkable wine’ that will bring any occasion to life! Consume now or cellar responsibly until 2019.
