Sweeping out from a limestone ridge, layers of the famous terra rossa soil hold firm to the roots of Heathfield’s vines. And its here, nestled between pristine nature reserves and distinguished wine regions, that the Tidswell family craft their cool climate varietal wines.
It’s a rugged land, but one that rewards those who can sit back and absorb its beauty with a glass of Heathfield Cabernet in hand.
The colder and drier winter of 2012 meant that we welcomed good spring rains before a long, hot and dry summer which resulted in high grape yields at harvest in late March 2013.
Cabernet Sauvignon parcels were selected from 'East-West Block' at our family estate vineyard Heathfield, then harvested at 14.5 baume. Matured superbly after eighteen months in French oak barrels, this wine delivers a distinctively regional style.
The 2013 Heathfield Cabernet Sauvignon imparts an abundance of dark berry flavours with herbaceous overtones and silky tannins. Rich and elegant with a mouth-fill of wild berry and intense blackcurrant flavours which soften on the palate. Enjoy with beef curry or slow cooked lamb!
Consume now or cellar responsibly until 2023.
